Why we're here:
This blog is to highlight the unjust persecution of legitimate non-TV users at the hands of TV Licensing. These people do not require a licence and are entitled to live without the unnecessary stress and inconvenience caused by TV Licensing's correspondence and employees.

If you use equipment to receive live broadcast TV programmes, or to watch or download BBC on-demand programmes via the iPlayer, then the law requires you to have a TV licence and we encourage you to buy one.

If you've just arrived here from a search engine, then you might find our Quick Guide helpful.

Yorkshire TV Licensing Goon

Famed for beautiful rolling countryside, yappy little dogs, overpriced tea rooms and people that can't pronounce the letter "H" correctly - particularly those hailing from Alifax and Uddersfield. It is also a popular haunt for TV Licensing goons (see here and here for starters), as further evidenced by today's YouTube offering.

We don't know too much about this one, but we do know it comes from somewhere in Yorkshire (accepting the fact Yorkshire is rather large). Hopefully more information will come to light and we'll be able to pinpoint the exact location for the sake of completeness.

A TV Licensing "Enforcement Officer" - his own description - is shown making enquiries at an unlicensed property. The male occupant, who would do well to remember the old adage "if you can't say anything sensible, best say nothing at all", makes it quite clear that he has no intention of paying for a TV licence.

Ordinarily that might not be a problem, but coupled with his opinion that "it's not a legal right to pay it anymore" and "the only incentive you've got to make me pay that is by fining me", then he's potentially storing up problems for the future.

Our advice to anyone who doesn't legally need a TV licence is the same as always: Totally ignore TV Licensing.

Say absolutely nothing at all to any TV Licensing goon that visits your home. By saying nothing the occupier is depriving TV Licensing of its most effective weapon - information. Without information, TV Licensing is powerless to advance its enquiries any further.

We would discourage anyone from discussing points of law with a TV Licensing goon, unless they are well clued-up on such matters or actively seeking confrontation.

Yorkshire, Yorkshire, Yorkshire.
Home of the hammer wielding mass murder and shellsuit wearing mass paedophile!

Steady on Anon.
There's a difference between a gentle bit of ribbing Yorkshire folk and totally alienating them with comments like that.
Little Britain? Eh?

Anonymous forgot to mention Yorkshire is also home to the most corrupt police force in the UK, take a bow South Yorkshire Constabulary.

Anyway, that video was painful. I think the guy was naïve rather than stupid but I would not be surprised if he'11 find himself on the end of an "exceptionally rare" search warrant...
