Reform UK has pledged to axe the despised BBC TV licence if it gets into power.
As far as I am aware, it is the only political party to give such a cast-iron guarantee on the future of the £169.50 annual fee.
The party's manifesto, which is has rebranded as an election contract, was launched by party leader Nigel Farage in Merthyr Tydfil.
In relation to the future of the BBC, the contract states: "The out-of-touch wasteful BBC is institutionally biased. The TV licence is taxation without representation. In a world of on-demand TV people should be free to choose."
Reform UK has said it will begin reforming the BBC within its first hundred days in power.
For all the opinion polls currently indicate a Labour majority Government, there is an outside chance that Reform UK could act as kingmaker in a Reform-Conservative coalition.
