Why we're here:
This blog is to highlight the unjust persecution of legitimate non-TV users at the hands of TV Licensing. These people do not require a licence and are entitled to live without the unnecessary stress and inconvenience caused by TV Licensing's correspondence and employees.

If you use equipment to receive live broadcast TV programmes, or to watch or download on-demand programmes via the BBC iPlayer, then the law requires you to have a licence and we encourage you to buy one.

BBC Plans to Axe Television and Radio Divisions

Tony Hall, the Director General of the BBC, is set to unveil radicals plans to abolish the broadcaster's television and radio divisions.

The new organisation of the BBC is still not clear, but it is likely that two new divisions - BBC Entertain and BBC Inform - will be created to bridge the increasingly blurred line between television, radio and online content.

BBC Entertain, just as the name suggests, would encompass the Corporation's current entertainment offering, including BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Three, Radio 1, 1Xtra and Radio 2.

BBC Inform, on the other hand, would focus on news, current affairs and specialist content, including the BBC News Channel, BBC Parliament, BBC Four, Radio 4, 5 Live and 5 Live Sports Extra.

A number of high ranking BBC executives are expected to leave the Corporation, as the proposed changes take effect. Mark Linsey has been acting Director of Television since the departure of Danny Cohen last November, but it is believed the post will be abolished.

The Controller of BBC One and BBC Two roles were scrapped a few weeks ago, with the departure of Kim Shillinglaw. The incumbent Controller of BBC One, Charlotte Moore, was promoted to the newly established role of Controller of TV Channels and iPlayer.

Hall is expected to announce his final organisational blueprint in a speech before Easter.
