Contacting TV Licensing is often a pointless exercise, as many people who have volunteered their non-viewer status would testify.
We would always recommend that anyone needing TV licence advice performs a web search first, because there is already plenty of information out there.
Anyone making the mistake of contacting TV Licensing using the details on the tvlicence.tv website could be in for a particularly rude awakening when their phone bill arrives.
The site, which appears as a sponsored result at the top of a Google search on "TV Licensing", invites people to contact TV Licensing via an expensive premium rate number. Reading the small print it would appear that anyone calling the number is directed to the official TV Licensing call centre, although they can't guarantee it.
Curiously the Google ad suggests this third-party offers "24/7 support", but limited hours of opening are given on the side of their web page. The text is littered with typographical errors, further illustrating the fact that it can't be trusted.

What is guaranteed is that anyone choosing this expensive number, instead of TV Licensing's official national rate (0300) number, would face the eye watering charge of £1.53 per minute from a BT landline, considerably more if they use a mobile.
If you must contact TV Licensing then please be sure to use the details on their official website.

Yes, that's them. Looks like exactly the same trick.
"...further illustrating the fact that it can't be trusted."
Same as TV Licensing then, they can't be trusted either.
BBC / TV licensing scammers attracting premium phone line scammers. Like filth attracting cockroaches, who would have thought it.
If you don't need a licence save your money and don't bother ringing BBC/crapita/TVL, they won't believe you anyway.
