Today we give a well deserved shout out to our noble colleague Cornucopia of the TV Licence Resistance forums, who has just updated his own Licence Free website.
The new version of the Licence Free website is arranged into three handy sections as follows:
- "The TV Licence"
- "TV Licensing"
- "TV Licensing and the Law"
Our eye was immediately drawn to the comprehensive "TV Licensing" section, which goes on to debunk some of the BBC's favourite myths about TV detector vans and search warrants. We're not giving too much away, particularly to readers of our own blog, when we say that these two items are rare in the extreme, despite the BBC doing its utmost to maintain the pretence of an effective and wide-reaching TV licence enforcement regime.
The "TV Licensing and the Law" section has been updated to reflect recent changes to the legislation, which now require anyone receiving BBC on-demand programme services to be covered by a valid TV licence.
The "TV Licence" section gives a potted history of the TV licence fee and a comprehensive overview of our main gripes with the current system.
