Why we're here:
This blog is to highlight the unjust persecution of legitimate non-TV users at the hands of TV Licensing. These people do not require a licence and are entitled to live without the unnecessary stress and inconvenience caused by TV Licensing's correspondence and employees.

If you use equipment to receive live broadcast TV programmes, or to watch or download BBC on-demand programmes via the iPlayer, then the law requires you to have a TV licence and we encourage you to buy one.

If you've just arrived here from a search engine, then you might find our Quick Guide helpful.

TV Licensing Red Hand Delivered Threatogram

There is a new TV Licensing threatogram doing the rounds.

The glossy red card, shown in the image above, bears laser printed "handwriting" claiming that it was hand delivered. It was hand delivered - by Royal Mail, just like most other things that get pushed through the letterbox. However, the recipient is clearly meant to jump to the incorrect conclusion that a TV Licensing goon has paid them a personal visit and delivered the card.

If the occupier of an unlicensed property thinks that TV Licensing has been at their doorstep, they are more likely to feel pressurised into buying a TV licence. TV Licensing knows that the occupiers of legally-licence-free properties will also feel pressurised, owing to the combative and accusatory tone of its caustic correspondence. Of course TV Licensing isn't bothered who it accuses or offends, just as long as the cash keeps rolling in.

Our advice to anyone receiving this latest missive from TV Licensing is to put it straight in the bin where it belongs. Do not be deceived or intimidated by TV Licensing's hollow threats and legal half-truths.

Anyone who is legally-licence-free should not be giving the scum at TV Licensing a second thought.

Please see our Quick Guide page for more information about TV Licensing's virtually non-existent powers, rights and obligations.

It should also be pointed out that this threatogram - including all its deliberately deceptive content - has been approved by the BBC. They have major form in this area - generally their threatograms include several bogus elements - fake "enforcement divisions", fake signatures, bogus "visit approved" handstamps, references to non-existent "investigations", meaningless statements such as "will you be in on this date?" or "we're giving you 10 days to get licensed".

In fact the BBC's TV Licensing clown-goons download a list of addresses at the start of the week and get to chose who they are going to bother. It seems that their main targets are women. I haven't paid them a single penny for over 20 years and haven't seen a clown-goon for a very long time.

I have yet to get some of these threat-o-grams, will you be in on a date, an investigation has been started and visit approved, the red one is new to me. Some elderly person might see one and try the royal mail redeliver site thinking they have missed a delivery not reading the card.
I have been licence free for 33 years of the 39 I have needed a licence, that's when I had BT Vision, and only two letters since 2016 saying I need to inform them I am still licence free and one saying I need a licence, in June and July 2018.
