Two BBC local radio presenters have been charged with sex offences against children.
Tony Wadsworth and Julie Mayer, who have jointly presented programmes on BBC WM and Radio Leicester, are due to appear at Warwickshire Magistrates' Court on 11th May 2016.
The married couple, who have been presenting together since the early 1990s, abruptly disappeared from the airwaves in December 2015, with the BBC citing "personal reasons" for their sudden absence.
Warwickshire Police has now announced that Wadsworth, 65, of Broughton Astley, Leicestershire, has been charged with five counts of inciting a boy under the age of 16 to commit an act of gross indecency.
Mayer, 58, of the same address, has been charged with seven counts of inciting a boy under the age of 16 to commit an act of gross indecency.
The couple each face an additional count of outraging public decency.
The alleged offences were committed against four children, aged between 11 and 15, in Atherstone, Warwickshire between 1996 and 1999.
A BBC spokesman said: "We understand the charges do not relate to their conduct or position at the BBC."

Typical BBC nonsense. These 2 people most likely used their fame as employees of the BBC, in the same way Saville and Harris did, just to get close to kids.
When will these people learn?! As parents (if indeed they are), would these people get their own kids to do the same things they get other people's kids to do?! I SERIOUSLY DOUBT IT!!
Lets wait for all the facts to come out first shall we, instead of deciding someone is guilty based on mob rule.
All sex offenders should be microchipped as well as the pedophile protectors at the BBC. No child is safe whilst sex offenders who cannot control their sick, perverted urges are allowed to have access to babies and children.
