Why we're here:
This blog is to highlight the unjust persecution of legitimate non-TV users at the hands of TV Licensing. These people do not require a licence and are entitled to live without the unnecessary stress and inconvenience caused by TV Licensing's correspondence and employees.

If you use equipment to receive live broadcast TV programmes, or to watch or download BBC on-demand programmes via the iPlayer, then the law requires you to have a TV licence and we encourage you to buy one.

If you've just arrived here from a search engine, then you might find our Quick Guide helpful.

Merseyside TV Licensing Goon Recaptured on Camera

Another TV Licensing goon has been captured on camera peddling his immoral wares for a second time.

Baby-faced Richard Durrant was out gooning on the streets of Merseyside earlier today, when he called at a block of flats and was greeted by a clued-up, camera-wielding occupier.

Durrant was last caught on camera back in July 2014. The footage this time isn't quite as clear, but there's no mistaking his poncey haircut or slap-on tan.

As the occupier approached the gated entrance Durrant could be heard commenting that he didn't have a TV licence. Quick as a flash the occupier replied that he didn't need a TV licence, as he didn't receive live TV programmes.

Durrant, by this stage sensing his commission slipping from grasp, asked to enter the property to confirm that the occupier was being truthful. The occupier refused, to which Durrant responded that other TV Licensing goons may visit and he wouldn't be able to remove his address from the list.

Durrant then turned on his heels and walked away from the visit. The occupier kept his camera rolling as Durrant walked down the road - in completely the opposite direction to his car - and paused to make some notes. After a few minutes of pretending he'd parked in the opposite direction, Durrant doubled back towards his vehicle (a royal blue Ford Focus, registration number SM05 RYV).

Remember that a TV licence is only needed for those properties where equipment is installed or used to receive TV programmes. Anyone, like the occupier in this latest video, who doesn't legally require a TV licence, is under no obligation to assist TV Licensing.

By far the most effective way of dealing with TV Licensing goons like Durrant is to say nothing and close the door.

Can I ask when this was recorded as is this was in July 2015 then this car was illegally on the road - https://www.vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk clearly shows the car to be an MOT lapsed vehicle (MOT Run ou 12th June 2015) although it is insured and taxed as of today (25/07/2015)

I can tell you it was recorded on the morning of 23rd July 2015 - e.g. the very same day we wrote about it.

Interesting- in that case this man should be reported for illegal use of the car. The Government database is only 5-7 days behind!

All I get is:

"Vehicle details could not be found

Vehicle details could not be found as it has not been possible to locate the vehicle details, your enquiry cannot proceed and has been cancelled. If you want to check the vehicle record held by DVLA..."

Cancel my last. Found it!

No MoT. Expired 12th June 2015.

Now, question is, how quickly does the gov.uk site get updated once a vehicle has passed an MoT inspection?

To answer this - its within a week - ver rare to be longer. I have a few mates in the trade and their MOTs are on-line within days as its a system connected direct (At least in their garage)

Think I've had him at mine with the same result.
As soon as I refused to let him in he said he couldn't stop the letters and the visits, to which I replied "not bothered, they can if they like" and he lost interest and left.
