Why we're here:
This blog is to highlight the unjust persecution of legitimate non-TV users at the hands of TV Licensing. These people do not require a licence and are entitled to live without the unnecessary stress and inconvenience caused by TV Licensing's correspondence and employees.

If you use equipment to receive live broadcast TV programmes, or to watch or download BBC on-demand programmes via the iPlayer, then the law requires you to have a TV licence and we encourage you to buy one.

If you've just arrived here from a search engine, then you might find our Quick Guide helpful.

TV Licensing Failure

Alarmingly we are running out of titles that succinctly illustrate the arrogance, incompetence, duplicity and deceitfulness of TV Licensing.

Today's title comes from a post of the same name at the Looking After Our Rights blog. We encourage you to head over there and read their full account of how a TV Licensing salesman threatened them with legal mistruths in their place of work.

To summarise a TV Licensing sales goon knocked on the door of their office, which happened to be unlicensed. The goon rapidly lurched into TV Licensing commission grabbing bullshit mode and told them the complete and utter lie that a licence was needed merely to own a television. Absolute bullshit, just as we'd come to expect from TV Licensing.

Thankfully the author's colleague Mick was slightly better informed than TV Licensing's brain dead simpleton and sent him packing with a flea in his ear.

Remember folks, the law is quite clear that a licence is only required for properties where equipment is installed and used for watching or recording live broadcast TV programmes. No licence is needed for viewing pre-recorded DVDs, catch up TV programmes or CCTV images etc.

Furthermore, no-one is under any legal obligation whatsoever to communicate or cooperate with TV Licensing.

I had to explain to a young man that was working with a builder I employed that he didn't need a separate licence for his TV in his parents bedroom.
He was convinced by the licensing PR adverts to purchac3e a second license for himself.
He explained that it said if he watches TV then he needs a incense.
This is exactly how the like to operate, they have no worries that you are wrongly charged, all thay care about is spying on you and making you pay.
